We are currently seeking a Compliance Manager to join our Legal & Compliance team to support business growth and operations. Based in Hong Kong, the Compliance Manager is a key part of the Legal and Compliance Department (LCD). You will work in a small but dedicated team with global coverage. You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including implementing and supporting the Company’s global compliance program at the direction of the Head of Compliance, as well as supporting LCD and the Legal team members on projects

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance: Overall implementation, management and continuous improvement of the company’s global compliance program, including drafting/editing of policies, giving training, and raising the awareness level of ethics and compliance across the company. Employing legal training and previous relevant experience to proactively identify and resolve day to day compliance related issues. Maintain compliance oversight of third parties and conduct associated due diligence and monitoring. Being a “Brand Ambassador” for the Legal and Compliance Department, assisting employees at all levels and locations on Compliance issues. (minimum 70% of time)
• Internal investigations: Assist the Head of Compliance in carrying out internal investigations in regard to matters including alleged fraud, improper use of company assets, corruption, violations of G&E policies, misconduct and other behavior in violation of company policies, always ensuring objectivity, impartiality and fairness throughout investigative processes in accordance with internal guidelines and policies as well as generally recognized internal standards. (as needed)
• Legal and other work: Support the Legal and Compliance Department on general commercial legal work, regulatory matters, special projects and other legal work as the need arises, to prepare and review legal documents (including but not limited to confidentiality agreements, supply agreements, leases, marketing and promotional materials) as well as manage corporate secretarial work (including but not limited to, preparing documentation for corporate entity, legal entity management, drafting corporate resolutions, and preparing for board and shareholder meetings).

Key Requirements:

• Legal training and degree; preferably legally qualified.
• 4-6 years experience with and knowledge of international compliance requirements such as the FCPA, UK Bribery Act, OFAC, competition law etc. Experience in implementing controls that can detect and prevent instances of illegal, unethical or improper conduct by employees, agents, suppliers, contractors or other parties dealing with the Company. Additional training in specialized area such as CFE/fraud forensics, third-party due diligence and data analytics would be an asset.
• Regional experience across Asia, including China; global experience would be a plus.
• Understanding of/exposure to retail industry; experience with e-commerce would be a plus.
• Excellent communication skills (speaking, presenting, drafting, listening, reading) in English to a variety of audiences in non-technical terms, communicating clearly, accurately, confidently and concisely in a timely manner; listens well and asks appropriate questions to gather all key information required. Fluent Chinese ability (including ability to draft) mandatory; French useful. Good working knowledge of technology systems, with strong project management and organizational skills.
