Job Description

We are looking for an outgoing, confident and an enthusiastic person to engage with our customers, host them and provide an excellent customer experience at the Whisky House Concept at Changi Airport. The successful candidate will be able to interact with customers and guide them through the world of whiskies to suit the customers’ needs while converting customers to purchase the whisky at the T2 Departures Duplex.

Key Responsibilities:
• Welcoming, acknowledging and greeting customers who come to the bar
• Engage, host and build a relationship with the customer and create a unique and memorable experience for the customer
• Assess customers’ needs, preferences and make recommendations – based on taste profiles, regions, brands of whiskies etc.
• Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
• Mix ingredients to prepare classic whisky preparations of cocktails and serve (ex. Whisky sour)
• Assist customers in selecting, purchasing, refunding merchandise while demonstrating excellence in customer service at all times.
• Restock and replenish Whisky House bar inventory and supplies
• Attend and be able to operate on the DFS POS system
• Assist in shop floor trainings on the appreciation of whisky for the Sales Associates
• Assist with Whisky events in the Whisky House bar – brand ambassador events, DFS festivals, etc.
• Maintain record and control of bar stock and arrange supplies
• Housekeeping of the bar and bar supplies - glasses and additional utensils
• Maintain a good display standard for the designated area
• Following all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
• Adhere to established health and safety policy and other DFS company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Maintain a smart and well-groomed appearance when in uniform to convey a professional image of self-confidence and competence

•Identify customer’s temperaments and flex to their style
•Provide helpful, friendly assistance in a sincere manner
•Maintain eye contact
•Use professional language
• Respond to customer queries and complaints in a polite and courteous manner - refer to the manager or Manager on Duty if appropriate

Key Requirements:
• Must have basic understanding about different types of whisky
• High School, diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
• Engaging personality, positive attitude and strong communication and interpersonal skills
• 21 years or above of age in order to comply with the legal drinking age
• Minimum 1 year experience as an ambassador or bartender with basic knowledge of the alcohol industry
• Proficient in English
• Proficient with handling a POS register machine
• Ability to work flexible hours / shifts, including weekends, nights and holidays.
• Able to work overtime hours when necessary
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
• High energy level and positive approach to job and group responsibilities.
