Job Description

To manage the Visual Merchandising function of T Fondaco dei Tedeschi that will contribute to sales growth by using their creativity to balance enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the Galleria and commercial needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Visual Merchandising
• To provide leadership and direction to VM team, harmonizing consistency of the global DFS Galleria image via the execution of global seasonal campaigns, windows, promotional displays and all aspects of maintaining store standards to the highest degree.
• Management of luxury and bridge fashion brand visual identities within a department / concept store
• Management of all VM solutions & programmes across all categories: beauty, fashion & accessories, watches & jewellery, food hall & souvenirs
• Define and formalize the visual merchandising guidelines and associated visual merchandising tools for all multi brands/generic merchandise areas.
• Order props and VM tools.
• Ownership, management and maintenance of VM inventory; outposts, windows, signage and fixtures.
• Partnership and collaboration with store operations, marketing and vendors (Brands) in the implementation of promotional brand activities and visual retail executions to achieve sales results.
• Accountability, management and monthly reporting of visual merchandising expenses and budget
• Coordinate the scenography of the Fondaco dei Tedeschi’s cultural program.
• Ensure that the Brands and the restaurant operator respect the global DFS image and guidelines.
• Order, manage and implement all in-store signage
• Manage VM budget

Develop and lead the visual merchandising team (5 people)
• Recruit and build an effective VM team
• Motivate and inspire his/her team
• Create and promote a positive work environment in line with DFS values
• Provide day-to-day direction concerning work assignments and priorities.
• Provide development and career opportunities to his/her team (training, coaching…)
• Conduct annual appraisal meetings, set individual/collective objectives, ongoing feedback

Key Requirements:
•Degree holder in Fine Arts, interior/ graphic design, Visual display or related discipline
•Minimum 8 years of job experience in retail displays in multi-brands environments or similar commercial art experiences
•Ideal candidate will come from department or multi category store background. Must be able to demonstrate high degree of creativity from conceptualising to implementation of displays.
•Prefer not to have candidates from brands as they may not have cross category experience and often too used to following strict guidelines – not thinking outside the box.
•Minimum 5 years in a managerial position with strong communication skills and good people management skills.
•Fluency in spoken and written English and Italian.
•Proficient in computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) essential. Knowledge of Adobe creative suite an advantage.
