Job Description

The Talent Support Manager plays a critical role in the achievement of the DFS vision of exceptional people delivering luxurious customer service experience to our customers. The Talent Support Manager remains focused on maximizing the available staffing for schedule preparation, and the overall effectiveness of payroll and employee related expense lines in the business unit. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager (AGM), Operations, the Talent Support Manager must have strong organization and communication skills to ensure the GM, AGM, store teams and Talent Management teams are effectively connected on staffing related administration, and effective staff scheduling. The Talent Support Manager manages all staff related administration components for the location including preparation of staff scheduling, productivity reporting, vendor funded staff related report coordination and store incentive calculation including spiffs.

Key Responsibilities:
Staff Scheduling, Productivity Reporting & Payroll Administration
• Ensures the Talent Scheduling Specialist prepares and issues an effective monthly staff schedule for all teams in their location(s).
• Reviews all approved leave requests and ensures that appropriate consideration is taken for forecasted business needs and location events. Coordinates with Human Resources all extra ordinary requests for extended leaves to ensure the request is in line with relevant employee regulations, policies, procedures and leave benefit entitlements
• Ensures all payroll related paperwork is promptly forwarded to HR and liaises with Human Resources for accurate payroll processing and employee entitlements record keeping
• Promptly responds to staff pay related queries referring any unresolved queries to appropriate local Payroll Administrators
• Communicate, track and administrate all approved store incentive schemes, including vendor funded or vendor supported incentives overseeing timely delivery to store teams
• Produce and distribute staff sales productivity reporting to PSMs and other relevant line managers at required frequencies and in the standard format
• Actively support the AGM Operations to ensure that the workplace is safe, with the premises and behaviors of employees not imposing risks to the health and safety of any person. Ensure systems or procedures are in place for risks to be identified and reported by any staff member, appropriately and promptly assessed, and to be actively addressed noting compliance with any relevant local legislation Team & Service Management
• Effectively communicate overall company objectives and how the Talent Scheduling (TS) Specialist role is critical to driving the achievement of company vision, store sales targets and strategies for those objectives. Ensure TS Specialist has objectives which remain focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences and increasing staff productivity. Review performance on a regular basis General
• Complete internal reports and participate in various projects as/when required
• Actively participate in corporate charity initiatives, local community and government activities to demonstrate DFS’ commitment to the local community in both business and social senses
• Actively promote the DFS brand and a strong positive professional image at all times

Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business or equivalent preferred. 2+years in retail team management require Leadership experience with human resource and financial accountability highly desired Merchandising and negotiations experience a plus Able to effectively communicate and operate in a culturally diverse environment with astuteness and sensitivity Must have high degree of integrity and confidentiality with a keen sense of business/financial acumen Accuracy and attention to detail Able to work under stringent deadlines and high pressure and be able to prioritize a heavy workload with multiple deadlines Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work well with personnel at various levels Must have strong communication skills, both oral and written Function as a resourceful and proactive team member Must be able to have a flexible schedule Able to work independently with minimal supervision Must be accurate Strong organizational skills Very good analytical skills. Able to make sound decisions with relevant facts at hand and communicate the perspective clearly
