Job Description

The Senior Manager, Merchandise Finance is responsible for driving Sales, Gross Margin, and Inventory performance by Division and Location. He / She works closely with the category Planning teams managing the Open to Buy to ensure Gross Margin and Inventory strategies are on track achieving financial targets. This includes on-going partnership with the category VPs and Directors in plan / forecast development and tracking of actual performance, with recommendation for improvement. He / She also works closely with the Merchant, Marketing, and Division teams in driving promotional campaign effectiveness and maximizing funding support from business partners. This position is instrumental in driving DFS Gross Margin and Inventory results with focus on Division and Location profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Gross Profit and Inventory management
• Review, challenge, and validate Open To Buy Plan and Forecast by Division by Product. Partner with Merchandise Finance Planning and Reporting team (MFPR) and category team to ensure connectivity.
• Track category performance of Sales, Gross Margin, and Inventory by Division and Location against Budget and Forecast. Identify exceptions, opportunities, and risks.
• Partner with category team to address exceptions, opportunities, and risks. Attention to drive profit by product by location.
• Establish independent projection for Sales, Gross Margin and Inventory projection. Ensure connectivity and alignment with MFPR team for reporting to senior management. Reporting and Analysis
• Monthly and Weekly reports (Qualitative and Quantitative) and analysis on Sales, Gross Profit, and Inventory.
• Provide statistical and quantitative analysis as requested by DFS senior management Division Partner Relations
• Monthly update to Division team on Division Sales and Gross Margin results and outlook. Provide insight and recommend action
• Partner with Division in tracking results, ensure alignment on conclusion and expectation

Key Requirements:
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent - 5 – 7 years management experience in merchandising - Financial and analytical background in buying or planning - Accounting / Financial Planning experience is an advantage - Proven leadership in a multi-cultural work environment - Action Oriented - Business Acumen - Building Effective Teams - Conflict Management - Dealing with Ambiguity - Developing Direct Reports - Interpersonal Savvy - Managing Vision and Purpose - Negotiation Skills - Organizational Agility - Strategic Agility - Able to lead teams through ambiguity and change - Global business experience preferred
