Job Description

The Senior Assistant Demand Planning Manager generates unconstrained demand sales forecast at the item and location level, and ensures proper event & promotion entries on system to maximize forecast accuracy. He / She is responsible for supporting Merchandise Planning Teams in buying decisions on replenishable items. Together with the Demand Planning Manager, he / she acts as the key liaison with Merchandise Planning and R&A teams for communication related to forecast changes as they relate to Vendor-to-DC and DC-to-Store actions. The candidate should also be able to leverage the TXT Demand Forecasting Tool in order to identify business risks and opportunities, and support the Demand Planning Manager or the broader team on further analyses.

Key Responsibilities:
Forecasting
• Review forecast exceptions (stock-out, forecast error, missing forecast, history cleansing, etc) on a SKU-location level and adjust item forecasts accordingly
• Manage the event building process and ensure full completion of event detail entries to generate forecast uplifts
• Phase-in new items / Phase-out replaced items in the system for forecast calculation
• Perform manual adjustments on historical sales under ad hoc instances where automated cleansing activities do not produce cleansed baseline actual sales Communication
• Communicate shifts in SKU / Class level trends with Merchandising, Planning and R&A teams for their reference to assort / replenish
• Provide Planning Teams with unconstrained item forecast to support brand communication on product availability
• Coordinate with Merchant and Planning Teams on event creation with respect to promotional mechanics (if any), timing, uplift expectation, SKUs and locations involved Knowledge Transfer
• Develop technical know-how of Demand Forecast system and be able to predict / explain the impact of forecast changes on Ordering and Store Replenishments with the broader team

Key Requirements:

• University Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years in a buying and/or planning function with financial and analytical merchandising background.
• International mobility, for career advancement opportunities, to Hong Kong and other major Asia-Pacific cities.
• FMCG experience preferred.
