Job Description

The Promotions Manager is critical for the co-ordination and execution of Global promotional calendar that support the Merchandizing and Marketing Strategy and ultimately drive the Sales and Margin plan. The Promotions Manager is the key link and contact between the Global Merchant team, the Regional Merchandizing team and the Store Operations team and ensures effective communication between stakeholders on promotional activities. The Promotions Manager works closely with other team members such as the Visual Merchandizing and Store Operations team as well as with the locally based vendors to ensure seamless execution of promotional events. The Promotion Manager is responsible for providing a post mortem analysis on the results to gauge the successes, learnings and opportunities for better performance of subsequent promotions.

Key Responsibilities:
Promotions Management
• Responsible for the communication, preparation and execution of promotions in stores. He/She remains in close contact with team members on planning and implementation of promotional activities with a view to maximise sales productivity. Responsible for the booking of all promotional spaces through the VAMS system, managing the full communication stream up to installation in store, including coordination with locally based vendors where required
• Ensure effective logistics of resources needed to support the promotion effective date, including but not limited to allocation and distribution of GWP, allocation of tasting stocks.
• Works closely with the Visual Merchandising team to ensure all promotional visual assets are correctly updated in store
• Organize and lead monthly promotion meetings with the Store Team to ensure all Sales Associates are fully briefed on all promotions
• Liaise with vendor and Airport Authority on Concourse activations and act as an intermediary with the aim to execute best in class retail activations
• Liaise with local Marketing and RMM on the executing of Airport lead promotion campaigns
• Effectively and accurately administer the process to collect agreed income from the vendor for transparencies, promotional space and other expenses. Promotional Effectiveness
• Monitor the promotion effectiveness and collates sales and productivity results after the event. He/She is responsible for identifying successes, opportunities for improvements in future implementations. Team & Service Management
• Understand and drive the achievement of company vision, store sales targets and strategies and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Provide effective team leadership on promotions through open communication, training, coaching and active encouragement with a view to meet or exceed location sales and profitability targets, and role modelling desired behaviour.
• Support the location with their succession plan by assisting others grow their retail skills, confidence and effectiveness in their roles
• Ensure continual improvement and refinement of internal customer service, staff productivity, internal processes, communication effectiveness and product knowledge. General
• Complete internal reports and participate in various projects when required.
• Participate in corporate charity initiatives, local community and government activities to demonstrate DFS’s social responsibilities and commitment to the local community.
• Actively promote the DFS brand and a strong positive professional image at all times.

Key Requirements:
* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in management, Business or equivalent preferred, not essential • Critical Skills: Strong command of English language, written and spoken. • Work experience: 5-7 years’ retail environment required. Team leadership experience with retail/service industry or merchandising role highly desired. • Tools / Resources: Proficiency in MS computer applications and email is essential • Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: • Able to effectively communicate and operate in a culturally diverse environment • High degree of integrity and confidentiality with a keen sense of business/ financial acumen • Able to prioritise and work under stringent deadlines • Strong organisational and analytical skills
