Key Responsibilities:
The Role: Paralegal, Legal and Compliance

Based in Hong Kong, the Paralegal, Legal and Compliance is a key leader in the Legal and Compliance Team (LCD) reporting to James Bidlake, the General Counsel. LCD is a team of five, all based in the corporate headquarters in Hong Kong.

This is a core position with a wide scope of responsibilities within the LCD team. Working alongside the lawyers in the team and outside counsel, the responsibilities include preparing and reviewing legal documents including confidentiality agreements, supply agreements, lease agreements, and marketing and promotion materials; preparing documentation for the formation and maintenance of corporate entities; legal entity management across multiple jurisdictions, drafting corporate resolutions and related documents and preparing for board and shareholder meetings; assisting on preparation of electronic board books; conducting legal research; assisting with the legal and compliance aspects of business development; co-ordination with outside counsel and corporate secretarial firms; responding to ad-hoc legal queries; responding to request from internal auditors and/or external auditors; and handling legal billing and managing legal budget.

Key Requirements:
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have experience in an in-house legal function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, ideally in a consumer business with an online platform. Experience with top tier international law firm or multi-national corporation will be preferable. Experience with a luxury retail or retail environment would be a plus.

Continually raise the quality of both content and delivery of legal and compliance services to protect and promote the business

Maintain established relationships with external legal resources characterized by credibility, respect, and trust

Demonstrate excellent written, verbal and listening skills in English. Cantonese/Mandarin/French language skills
