Job Description

Manage all research activities in mainland China to ensure the senior management is provided with accurate and timely information on market and competitors for strategic and operational decisions. The purpose of studies is to measure current, and forecast future, PRC outbound travel market and consumer trends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prioritize, and manage all market researches and survey projects within established budgets and deadlines;
• Monitor the environment, conduct primary researches and analysis on macroeconomic environment, government policy, industrial intelligence (travel market and luxury retail industry), PRC consumer spending behavior and trends, and competitor activities etc., so as to evaluate DFS market position and the effectiveness of the organization’s current campaigns, determine threats, and identify market growth trends and new business opportunities;
• Evaluate findings, prepare periodical reports, and communicate research results internally with relevant departments; make recommendations to senior management about the implications of alternative sales, marketing, and business development strategies;
• Source, identify, and manage ongoing relationships with external research and data suppliers to ensure accurate, added-value, and cost-effective data is available to drive strategic and business decisions;
• Work closely cross-departments to ensure that the resources are used accurately and effectively;
• Other research projects as assigned by senior management on PRC market.

Key Requirements:

• University degree or above
• has been a senior analyst in a reputable international consultancy, with minimum 5 years in a similar role of market researcher and business analyst; experience in industries of retail, luxury, and/or travel is a plus
• Language skills Fluent in spoken and written English & Chinese
• Proficiency in MS Microsoft computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email required Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Good business acumen with ability to interpret, summarize and simplify complex intelligence/data
• Self-motivated, result-driven, ability to work under pressure and changing priorities
• Excellent interpersonal skills, proactive and energetic
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experienced in multiple projects management and requests for information and comfortable working in multicultural teams
• Good sense of luxury preferred
