Job Description

The Logistics Clerk will be active in ensuring the Logistics administrative & operational tasks are carried out in a timely manner and compliant with the DFS SOPs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with relevant import and export laws and regulations.
• Maintain frequent open and effective communication with Freight Forwarders, Customs Brokers and internal team members and DFS partners
• Support systems to ensure efficient compliance in the areas of warehousing, receiving, replenishment and import/export
• Verify accuracy of import documentation, arrange import clearance and transport and maintain log of activity
• Verify accuracy of work done by the appointed broker(s)
• Monitor issues effecting clearance and delivery and report through regulatory exception reports. Actively pursue issues to resolution.
• Effect earliest possible delivery of imports to the Warehouse/Store
• Prepare export documentation, arrange export clearance and transport
• Maintain log of export activities
• Prepare and submit value claims for established losses.
• Communicate claims with Finance department to ensure proper and timely accounting
• Monitor value claims for established losses until resolution
• Complete internal reports and participate in various projects as/when required
• Actively pursue opportunities to reduce shipping lead times and cost.
• Perform specific compliance tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
• Support other functions in the proper co-ordination of merchandise movement
• Perform any other duties as requested in a diligent and conscientious manner. Systems & Procedures
• Adhere to company policy and procedures relating to security and stock control, and monitor the team compliance.
• Actively facilitate, support and comply with all health and safety policy, procedures and regulations.
• Manage the team compliance with Customs regulations and relevant trading laws.

Key Requirements:

• Higher education, College or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business administration
• 2-5 years experience in Supply Chain, Logistics or Customs Brokerage
• Fluency in English and Mandarin
• Strong competencies in, freight & warehousing, import & export or retail logistics
• Proficient in MS computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) intermediate required
