Job Description

Responsible for accuracy and integrity of DFS Hawaii’s Inventory, Inventory Systems and optimal processing that ensure internal and external service level agreements are met.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for implementation and best practice for procedures and controls to ensure accuracy of all DFS Hawaii Inventory. Provides accounting systems control and develop new systems where applicable. 2. Ensures that reporting and issues resulting from inventory, inventory systems, and Point of Sale reconciliations to inventory are accurate or takes immediate action to correct if any discrepancies are identified. 3. Ensures account reconciliations of all General Ledger accounts related to inventory are done timely. 4. Increases the ability of the department to control inventory, reconcile physical inventories, perform cycle counts, adhere to Duty Free compliance, and internal audits. This includes receipt booking adjustments, monitoring in transit receipt acknowledgement discrepancies, inter-region transfers, return to vendor, damaged goods, lost and stolen merchandise write-offs, and SKU to SKU transfers. 5. Primary liaison, along with Regulatory and Compliance Manager for customs best practice relating to inventory at warehouse, Honolulu International Airport, and Waikiki Galleria 6. Supervises the Inventory Control and Systems teams. This would include interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, training, and objective setting in conjunction with department goals and objectives. 7. Schedules procedural reviews of audits to store and warehouse locations. Follows up on corporate internal auditors recommendations and compliance with DFS Global procedures relating to Inventory Control. This includes docuemntation of compliance and status updates for submission to senior management on a timely fashion. 8. Develops and implements new ideas and training procedures to improve productivity concerning inventory control issues. 9. Coordinates with store teams and IT to ensure that promotions are accurately reflected in point of sale and back end systems ensuring inventory to point of sale integrity.

Key Requirements:
Qualifications: 1. Requires excellent communications skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, i.e. supervisors, managers, clerks, outside personnel. 2. Ability to deal with a diverse group while overseeing physical inventories. 3. Ability to adapt to adversity in a high pressure environment. 4. Ability to work in a team environment a must. 5. Ability to handle merchandise during inventories, remain on your feet for several hours at a time. Job Specific Competencies: 1. Working knowledge of business applications software, with special emphasis on Excel 2. SAP experience preferred 3. MCS knowledge preferred 4. Ability to compile and analyze data. 5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines and be very detail oriented Experience: Retail experience with exposure to computerized inventory and sales systems. Proven ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies. Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Business preferred or equivalent experience required.
