Job Description

The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for all stock control policies & procedures. The Manager will ensure the company’s merchandise is controlled and accounted for in line with internal DFS & DFS Partners procedures & Customs regulations. The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for the accuracy of the inventory and creating standard operating procedures in collaboration with the wider logistics organization. The Manager will set clear targets and objectives for the inventory control team.

Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
• Full understanding of the scope of responsibilities and obligations of Inventory Control Management and the wider team responsibility
• Implement responsibilities for the Inventory team that are clear and well-defined.
• Create KPI’s to ensure inventory accuracy and metrics to measure the performance of the team
• Maintain effective communications and relations with the logistics team and wider organization. Ensure inventory issues and problems are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
• Participates and provides input into the terms and conditions, and cost management ( P&L)
• Ensure the DFS partners have proper safeguards to protect DFS proprietary information, security, etc.
• Conducts occasional audits to ensure integrity of inventory, security of information, etc.
• Focus on continuous improvement to reduce stock losses
• Ensures inventory accuracy. Performs physical counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy between physical inventory, and the system counts.
• Addresses Stock reconciliation reports and ensure all DFS systems are aligned
• Proactively identifies and resolves discrepancies, issues and disputes
• Responsible for month end reporting, financial audit reporting & regulatory inventory reporting required for Government or Customs authorities
• Manage the systems access for the local organization and be the systems gatekeeper
• Prepare, review and distribute reports on aged inventory & discrepancy inventory
• Support in the Reserve logistics process with returning inventory to vendors, or annual inventory destructions
• Assist with management of Defective or Damaged inventory
• Plan and execute regular and systematic physical stock counts of merchandise held at all locations, comparing to General Ledger
• Providing support on technical issues.
• Perform analysis of inventory, including obsoletes, stock take variances, ensuring appropriate corrective action.
• Support Loss Prevention Manager Oceania in identification, analysis and minimization of stock loss. Controls
• Creates and meets/exceeds budgets, forecasts, and other financial goals.
• Prepares, submits reports and updates status on inventory metrics as needed.
• Well-versed, and compliant with Customs regulations and other governmental laws and regulations affecting DFS’s operation in the location.
• Ensures proper security and safety controls are in place to reduce risk of stock loss.Controls include, but are not limited to access in and out of the warehouse, CCTV coverage, alarm systems, screening of individuals, information security, computer security, supply-chain security, key security, locks and locking, security seals, employee background checks, theft prevention, fire prevention, etc. A documented set of procedures in an SOP must be maintained and be current.
• Ensures inventory information and data is vetted and is accurate.
• Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality with service providers and DFS partners Develop and lead the Inventory Control team
• Recruit and build effective teams
• Motivate and federate his team
• Provide development opportunities to your team
• Conduct annual appraisal meetings, set individual/collective objectives, give feedbacks
• Provide day-to-day direction concerning work assignments, overtime requirements and priorities.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic area such as Engineering, Accounting, etc. may be substituted.
• 7 years’ of experience in an Inventory management or Inventory
• Accounting role
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is a must. Cantonese is a benefit.
• Strong competencies in management of teams, in logistic flows, stock control, security, and safety.
• Knowledge and experience with applying Quality Improvement Techniques. Six Sigma certification, APICs, Supply Chain Certification, and/or other professional certifications are a plus.
• Proficient in MS computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
