Job Description

We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support the administrative function of our Divisional Office supporting our office and distribution center teams as well as our North America retail locations. This position will support human resources functions including basic administrative duties, recruitment support, onboarding, benefit and Worker’s Compensation administration, learning and development and employee activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for pre-employment processing. Arranges drug testing and conducts background investigations.RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for pre-employment processing. Arranges drug testing and conducts background investigations.
2. Responsible for new employee in-processing, including ordering uniforms, preparing offer letters, preparing employee files, and new hire paperwork as well as accurately maintaining all changes to employee information.
3. Assists with new employee onboarding workshops, as needed.
4. Assists the LAX HR Manager with Airport Badging and U.S. Customs Seals Programs in compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
5. Coordinates the successful execution of employee events including summer picnic, long service awards, holiday party, etc.
6. Maintains employee files and all related documentation in full compliance with company, state and federal requirements.
7. Assists in administering employee benefits programs including new employee health benefits orientation and enrollment, annual open enrollment, 401(k) retirement plan, retiree program and coordinates local wellness events.
8. Processes bi-weekly payroll, Paid Time Off and LOA (Leave of Absence) requests.
9. Processes Worker’s Compensation Claims for work injuries, customer liability claims, and company vehicle accidents. Maintains claim files and coordinates investigations.
10. Maintains OSHA (Occupational Safety Health Act) monthly log and annual report.
11. Manages special projects as assigned, designed to continually enhance the level of service and product provided by the divisional Human Resources team.
12. Supports the Human Resources team in all general duties, as needed.

Key Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or equivalent work experience, including a minimum of two years of human resources experience (or equivalent).
