Job Description

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated HR professional to join our leadership team within our T Galleria store.

Responsible for people management practices designed to enhance organisational effectiveness, the Human Resources Manager's role is to actively support the achievement of business objectives and growth of the DFS talent pool. Ensuring the delivery of Human Resources policies, practices and activities to the store level, this role will suit a Human Resources Manager, Assistant HR Manager, HR Advisor or HR Partner with strong HR generalist skills including the ability to influence at a management level.

Key Responsibilities:
• End to end recruitment including sourcing and interviewing potential candidates to contract development and issuance
• Management and execution of the compensation and benefits strategy including merit review process and salary proposals
• Partnering with Store Leadership to drive employee engagement activities including global rewards and recognition programs, employee engagement survey action plans and social activities.
• Remaining current with all NZ specific employment legislation requirements and advising on required policy / procedure changes as applicable.
• Employee relations management including performance management and disciplinary procedures where required
• Assisting with the execution of the learning and development strategy including coordination and facilitation of corporate training programs and locally driven learning initiatives
• Maintaining all facets of HR administration requirements including effective and efficient record keeping, personnel file maintenance and payroll administration where required

Key Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a HR generalist function with the ability to work autonomously in a standalone role
• A strong working knowledge of New Zealand specific HR legislation and experience working in a unionized work environment essential. Includes capability to manage disciplinary processes including investigations
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Training coordination and facilitation skills highly regarded
