Job Description

Based in Hong Kong, this is an important position in the Legal and Compliance Team (LCD) reporting to the General Counsel and working closely with the Human Resources Department. This position is responsible for assisting in the management and handling of all labor and employment related matters in the Company across the globe. This is a new position and is located at corporate headquarter in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advises on labor and employment related matters in existing and proposed jurisdictions (e.g. Paris) which may include human resources issues, wage and hour law, workers’ compensation, labor relations, employee benefits, employment agreements and policy related issues, employment related litigation, grievances and arbitration
• Participates in and influences the decision-making process with internal stakeholders
• Participates in internal investigations
• Identifies and assesses legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area and advises accordingly
• Supervise, manages and evaluates outside counsel on employment related matters including litigation
• Sets standards and review policies and procedures globally to meet the requirements in countries of operation and raise employee awareness through staff training and other methods
• Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by the General Counsel
• Able to travel at times

• Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills within and across departments and externally; must be proactive in providing counsel to internal clients
• Sound judgment; ability to clearly make reasoned recommendations and determine who should be kept informed
• Self-starter with good business sense and a sense of urgency, honesty and fairness
• Good team player; calm under pressure Required Education and experience:
• Must be a qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction
• 4-6 years' PQE with substantive labor and employment experience with a multi-national corporate or an international law firm, preferably with Asian experience
• Knowledge of employment law in multiple jurisdictions where the Company is based would be a plus
• Fluent in English
