Job Description

The Financial Planning and Reporting Analyst supports development of the merchandise financial plan and forecast to support DFS strategic and financial objectives. He / She provides system, process, and analysis support to the Merchandise Finance team and category team to facilitate and enable Budget and Forecast alignment. The Analyst also holds the key role in running detail review and analysis of product category performance against the Budget and Forecast.

Key Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial
• Preparation of Division Gross Profit and Worldwide Inventory Budget, Forecast, and 5 year Strategic Plan
• Ensure compliance with Corporate / LVMH requirement on Financial KPI submission, including details, format, and timing
• Perform analysis to identify profit opportunity and risk, develop topline financial projection for management’s consideration
• Support the assessment and management of Inventory Reserve
• Ensure alignment between Merchant Plan / Forecast with Company Financial Budget / Forecast by Division and Location Reporting and Analysis
• Perform month end close review, with focus on variance to Budget, Forecast, and Last Year
• Gatekeeper of Other Costs of Sales, including Freight, Inventory Reserve, and other Financial Adjustments. Ensure clear record keeping and alignment with Corporate Finance
• Prepare Monthly and Weekly financial reports and presentation on Sales, Gross Profit, and Inventory
• Provide support to Shareholder’s / BOD presentation on Sales, Gross Margin, and Inventory
• Prepare ad hoc statistical and quantitative analysis
• Support / Lead Merchandise Finance special project

Key Requirements:
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent - 3 years experience in merchandise planning or finance / accounting - Proven leadership in a multi-cultural work environment Action Oriented - Business Acumen - Dealing with Ambiguity - Developing Direct Reports - Interpersonal Savvy - Managing Vision and Purpose - Organizational Agility - Strategic Agility - Able to lead teams through ambiguity and change - Global business experience preferred
