Job Description

The incumbent will work with a team of other finance officers to perform the daily operations in GL section. He/she will prepare the GL scope of work such as prepare and posting of monthly journals for closing of accounts, monthly reconciliations of assigned GL accounts and follow up on the schedules/enquiries. He/she will be assigned tasks that require analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Posting of journal entries and ensure completeness of monthly financial close.
• Review of accruals and release/reverse when actual invoices are received and posted.
• Review of prepayment and perform necessary amortization in the income statement in the appropriate months.
• Monitor and clear Open-Item-Managed (OIM) accounts balances.
• Compute and record sublease rental income for division.
• Co-ordinate with Accounts Receivables on sublease billings and settlements.
• Work with Accounts Payable on payment and bank issues.
• Assist accountant/manager in resolving teething issues and streamline processes especially for new business.
• Provide responsive support to division and other teams in day to day operations.
• Prepare the Division balance sheet schedules for assigned GL accounts and ensure issues are timely resolved with division or other relevant stakeholders.
• Upload and review of financial data in consolidation system for monthly financial close.
• Handle more complex tasks i.e. Concession computation, credit card reconciliation etc.
• Prepare Statutory Financial Statement and/or other financial reports.
• Other responsibilities include preparation of SAP statistical postings, year-end reporting, tax packages, client assistance packages and analysis/explanation of trend for selected P&L accounts during the monthly closing process.
• Other ad hoc projects as assigned.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor of Accountancy/Accounting (GL/full set experience will be considered favorably)
• Computer proficiency in Excel, SAP experience is an advantage
• Good communications and written skills
• Good interpersonal skills and a team player
• Ability to meet tight deadlines
