Job Description

The DFS Technology team is seeking a Director for Merchandising Systems – a global role, based in Hong Kong. This individual will be responsible for maximizing the value of key technologies used by DFS Merchant, Planning, Replenishment, and Master Data teams for the global store network as well as all digital channels of DFS. They will do this by working collaboratively with business and IT partners to develop and execute their domain technology roadmap for DFS’ ambitions across all channels. The role will entail oversight of software & partner selection, business analysis, solution design, implementation, and end-to-end service delivery. The Director, their team members and technology partners will work with business leaders and product owners to drive the roadmap in support of DFS’ overall vision and business objectives. The candidate should possess a balance of technical depth, business acumen, and strong communication skills. Candidate should be independent, results-oriented, eager to learn and with a passion for technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide overall people and technology leadership to the merchandising systems team
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with business leaders and teams from across the DFS organization
• Engage DFS brand partners to participate in the digitization of the end to end merchandise planning process, from assortment management, product creation and enrichment, procurements well as inventory flow
• Lead business requirements analysis for merchandising solutions and processes, considering risk management and cost-benefit analyses
• Partner with product owners, tech leads, technology partners and cross-functional teams to implement merchandising systems that meet the needs of the enterprise
• Lead the technology strategy and budget planning and management processes for merchandising systems and contribute to the wider enterprise technology strategy
• Stewardship of overall IT services for the merchandising systems domain, including customer satisfaction, service availability, service quality, communications, and DR strategy
• Successful candidates will possess deep technology implementation and service delivery experience in many of the following business process areas: •Merchandise planning, budgeting, and forecasting for retail, eCommerce, and wholesale channels •Demand forecasting •Replenishment & allocation •Product master data management •Inventory management •Assortment planning •Purchase order management •Additional experience and knowledge in adjacent supply chain functions such as transportation, logistics and regulatory is preferred
• Successful candidates: •Will have experience leading, motivating, coaching, and developing diverse teams composed of direct, indirect and external members •Will have experience developing and managing budgets at the domain, program and project level of both capital and operational nature •Will have experience leading support for production systems with emphasis on service delivery, problem management, and the effective mitigation of technology obsolescence •Will have experience working in a multi-vendor environment

Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent 12-15 years of experience designing and delivering technology solutions through consulting, retail, or travel industry experience Professional / technology certification is desirable Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
• Retail planning systems (e.g. Aptos TXT, SAP, JDA, SAS, Oracle, etc)
• ERP (e.g. SAP IS-Retail)
• Promotion management and optimization
• Master Data Management and/or Product Information Management (e.g. Informatica, SAP)
• Business Intelligence
• Business analysis, project and process management in retail planning and merchandising
• Vendor management
• Stakeholder communications and management
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and deliver quality work in a fast-paced work environment Other Qualifications / Core Competencies
