Job Description

We are looking for a highly creative and enthusiastic individual to join our in-house creative team, working collaboratively on a multitude of campaigns and initiatives for a global multi-brand travel retailer. The role of the Designer is to support the creative team in delivering beautiful & innovative work that reflects the positioning of DFS as “The Traveler’s Luxury Department Store”. The designer will work on a multitude of projects that deliver 360° branding and marketing from online to offline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate research, new concepts, and trend-relevant ideas
• Design concepts, identity, and visual language for campaigns & initiatives – with omnichannel touchpoints (print, video, digital, social, in-store, etc)
• Designing print & digital collaterals for events, promotions, partnerships, and wayfinding
• Adaptation of creative outputs across various formats & sizes
• Oversee production (retouching, proofs, printing, mockups, samples)
• Create internal & external presentations
• Team up collaboratively with various departments on projects (ie. editorial, visual merchandising, retail marketing, CRM, operations, etc.)
• Partner with project managers to oversee creative from beginning to end, while delivering projects on time with accuracy and staying within budget
• Maintain DFS’s standard of creative excellence, serving as the design service center within the organization, while ensuring brand guidelines
• On-going approach to learning & development of technical skills and industry best practices

Key Requirements:

• 3–5+ years of graphic design experience (but open to fresh graduates with an amazing portfolio)
• Proven track-record as in-house or freelance designer, for a studio, advertising agency, or within the luxury industry
• Expert skills in In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, etc.
• Experience working in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment with competing deadlines and priorities
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from a university or the equivalent
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Spoken Mandarin/Cantonese and written Simplified/Traditional Chinese a plus
• Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, highly-creative & curious
• Strong aesthetic taste with an understanding of luxury
• Art direction skills, with an eye for photography
• Great sense of typography & information design
• Audio editing capabilities, an understanding of its process/workflow
• Experience in working with audio professionals
• Awareness of the latest trends in design, typography, motion graphics
• Detail-oriented and accurate
• Hands-on with a service mentality
• Result-oriented: Ability to prioritize and work quickly from concept creation to finished product
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Customer centric: Ability to evaluate customer feedback and adapt accordingly – “test & learn”
• Great verbal & written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate and work well within a global and culturally diverse team
