Job Description

The Category Specialist will be accountable for the execution of global supply systems for the purpose of providing a means of delivering non-merchandize products or services for one-time and replenishment purchasing needs. This position will also be responsible for Hong Kong and Macau localized sourcing for products and services. Responsibilities with these activities will include, but not be limited to: vendor search and engagement, data analytic, research into the product or service, negotiation of contracts, contract development as well as renewal of expiring contracts. The Category Specialist will manage participation and compliance of the divisions, functioning as a leader and deploying all necessary efforts to communicate and coordinate the implementation and maintenance of the local contracts. He/She will maintain close communication with all divisions to understand the needs and expectations at field level and will act as a conduit between the field and global procurement team. The eventual increase in participation will improve the value received by the division and will have a direct impact on EBITDA. This position will serve to maximize the use of new technology, systems and processes that may be deployed to support Global procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate and coordinate all activities necessary for the implementation of global, divisional and localized contracts.
• Manage local sourcing activities with vendor qualification, product evaluation and testing.
• Be an interactive agent to encourage and build procurement process improvements at the field level.
• Manage sourcing technology activities such as, but not limited to: reverse auctions, bid system templates, E-platform development, etc.
• Conduct Spend data analysis to identify opportunities for cost improvement and value delivery.
• Prepare and execute RFQs/RFPs.
• Analyze proposals and make recommendations to Senior Management.
• Manage local suppliers and incorporate the resources of vendors to drive standards.
• Conduct periodic audits of divisional and localized contract pricing.
• Monitors performance of supplier (s) against agreed performance criteria.

Key Requirements:

• Preferable Supply Chain degree or related business education.
• Minimum of two years of sourcing experience in categories like security, maintenance, general expenses, telecommunications, copiers, etc. in Hong Kong and Macau.
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, macros, etc.) and PowerPoint skills required.
• Strong communication and relationship building skills, in variety of contexts.
• Good understanding of sourcing techniques, sourcing strategies and negotiation strategies.
• Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in the organization.
• Assertive personality and ability to proactively eliminate barriers.
• Project management experience a plus.
