Job Description

The Assistant Business Optimization Manager (BOM) supports the Business Optimization Manager to execute category specific Processes and Projects. He / She is responsible for executing analysis for pricing, vendor contribution, and promotions. Thru fact-based analysis and critical thinking, the Assistant BOM brings strong POV to influence the category’s key financial decisions on pricing, promotions, and vendor contribution.

Key Responsibilities:
Pricing and Promotions
• Analysis and adjust current pricing for optimal GM$ impact and maximize vendor incentives
• Manage any location specific monthly pricing policy, working with Business Optimization Manager, merchants, and planners to ensure optimal value is being realized month to month.
• Present pricing analysis with insights, trends and suggestions
• Analyze promotional effectiveness
• Strategies, suggest and implement new tests on both pricing and promotions
• Maintain pricing and promotions related databases and track impact on sales and GM$ Rebate, Incentive and Margin Management
• Execute financial modeling to optimize vendor contributions across IGM%, rebate proposals, incentives, staffing, capex and marketing to achieve/exceed GM% Budget.
• Track vendor contributions for both internal reporting and external negotiations. Process & Improvement Projects
• Special Projects beyond core responsibilities may be related to Supply Chain, Product & Inventory Productivity, Workflow & Communication Flows between the different stakeholders Relationship Building
• Build effective relationships with Merchants, Planning, Demand Planning, R&A, Promotion team, and Stores

Key Requirements:

• University Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum of 1-2 years in an analytical role; preferably related to retail/consumer analysis
• High competence in MS Excel, Powerpoint, retail reporting systems
• Strong comfort with systems and large data sets
• Able to build cross-functional relationships, communicate analysis and POV
• Fluency in English language and other language(s) as required by location
