Job Description

The Accountant for Fixed Assets (F/A) Accounting is an integral part of the team to ensure quality month end closing of F/A. This position is required to review quarterly fixed assets reports and the preparation and posting of journal entries and G/L account reconciliations. This position is also required to ensure that fixed assets records are complete, consistent with DFS’ accounting policies and compliant with local statutory depreciation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and provide guidance to the team in handling day to day issues and month-end close activities.
• Capitalization/disposal/transfer of assets and run monthly depreciation reports.
• Ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness of month end closing process for global F/A accounts.
• Responsible for proper capitalization of costs and recording of depreciation.
• Ensure that fixed assets accounting is in compliance with applicable local statutory tax laws and DFS’ accounting policies.
• Performed OIM clearing for CIP accrual, CIP reconciliation and Estimated Depreciation accounts.
• Review account reconciliations of fixed asset sub-ledgers to G/L and ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare and review G/L account reconciliations.
• Liaise with internal and external audit as well as other outside parties as required.
• Provide depreciation simulation to FP&A Hub for Budget and Forecast purposes.
• Provide support and respond to queries from Divisions, Corporate & Group Reporting, FP&A and A&R on a timely basis.
• Work closely with Store Project Administration and Project Development Team to ensure that information on fixed assets and depreciation is complete and accurate.
• Support Store Development Team in review of fixed assets for obsolescence.
• Other adhoc projects as assigned

Key Requirements:

• At least a Bachelor Degree in Accounting or equivalent
• At least 3 years relevant working experience (preferably from a MNC environment)
• People management experience is a must
• CPA or CA membership are desired
• Must be proficient in MS Excel/computer savvy, SAP experience is an advantage
• Strong command of written and spoken English is required
