Tax Analyst (9 months contract)

As a member of the Global Tax department, you will be helping to manage aspects of the DFS tax functions and mitigate DFS’ global tax liability while ensuring compliance with all Federal, state and international tax laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where DFS operates in.

 

We are looking for a Tax Analyst to join a 9-month contract and finish in May 2025.

 

You will assist DFS’ Tax Managers on a variety of tax compliance matters (direct tax, indirect tax and/or transfer pricing) and advisory projects for selected jurisdictions and work as a consultant to DFS’ divisions. You will also act as internal business advisor to identify and analyze tax issues of individual DFS companies and effectively communicate compliance, advisory and practical solutions to DFS stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support tax compliance and return preparation (Corporate Tax/ Indirect Tax, Withholding tax and/or Transfer Pricing) for DFS entities
  • Support transfer pricing such as intercompany transactions analysis and local transfer pricing documentation.
  • Prepare tax research on international tax issues, where required.
  • Provide support for tax audits and tax controversy matters in the region.
  • Assist, support and lead on tax projects, both independently and as team member.
  • Assist with analysis and review of DFS’ tax provisions and preparation of the Company’s consolidated financial statement tax provision and tax footnote in accordance with local GAAP for DFS’ divisions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline and automate tax-related procedures.
  • Other ad hoc tax projects as needed.

 

Requirements

  • At least an Accounting Degree from renowned college or university
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with major accounting firm, large corporation or combination of both.
  • Strong analytical ability with excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Based in Singapore and desire to work in a multi-national environment
  • Motivated self-starter who is able to handle multiple priorities, produce quality results and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with data analytics, automaton of tax process and / or digital transformation would be a plus.
  • Proficient in use of Excel, Word and tax preparation software. Experience with BPC or SAP general ledger software is a plus.
