Sr Accountant

What you'll be doing?

  • MONTH/YEAR-END FINANCIAL CLOSING – Provide oversight over accounting activities performed by local entities to ensure accurate and timely financial close. Review and analyze consolidated results and highlight significant and unusual entries for attention.
  • GROUP REPORTING – Provide oversight over reporting activities performed by local entities for the purposes of reporting to ultimate holding company. Perform detailed review and analysis of consolidated results for reporting to ultimate holding company.
  • STATUTORY REPORTING - Prepare DFS Group financial statements for purposes of reporting, including bank covenant compliance calculations. Liaise with external auditors in interim, final and special audits. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve any audit issues.
  • INTERNAL CONTROLS – Drive implementation of essential internal controls across Controllership function and provide oversight of internal controls design as part of global business process enhancement initiatives.
  • GLOBAL OPERATING PROCEDURES – Lead global improvement initiatives to drive alignment across local entities and address risks with appropriate levels of controls. These initiatives include establishing and maintaining a governance framework over Chart of Accounts usage and leveraging on existing and new technologies to establish group balance sheet reconciliation procedures to monitor and develop corrective actions to address these risks etc.
  • OTHERS - Keep abreast of accounting and reporting changes in IFRS and other applicable accounting standards. Provide subject matter expert consultation and solutioning to business partners where applicable. Participate in projects as assigned.

Ideal Candidate

The Senior Accountant, Group Reporting is responsible for group month/year-end financial closing and group/statutory reporting activities, implementation of essential internal controls and to drive global alignment of operating procedures. The candidate should display a strong understanding of accounting standards, have critical thinking skills and understanding of internal controls, and possess excellent communication skills.

 

Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 4 – 6 years of general ledger and consolidation experience in an MNC environment preferred. Candidates with audit experience are also welcome.
  • Internal controls/commercial experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) equivalent
