Specialist, Master Data Management
The MDM team plays a crucial role at DFS overseeing the accurate and timely enrichment of product data in our merchandising systems. This position will support the MDM team and organization by executing multiple tasks to ensure data consistency and a seamless product journey from ordering to delivery on the shop floor.
The incumbent will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a culture of innovation and improvement. They should be able to operate with a high degree of autonomy and be a self-starter. Excellent communication skills will be of great importance.
What you'll be doing?
- Registration of new products and ongoing maintenance of data elements such as cost and retail price, brand, color, and size
- Creation of purchase orders
- Fully responsible for a portfolio of brands within one of our 5 merchandising pillars (Beauty, Fashion, Food & Gifts, Spirits/Wine/Tobacco, Watches & Jewelry)
- Liaise with the Merchandising Team and external contacts to source required product information, while ensuring that data quality is compliant with DFS standards
- Communicate with internal and external partners to resolve issues related to product data, price discrepancies, and purchase orders
- Supporting merchandising system and process improvement projects
Ideal Candidate
- College or University Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- Previous master data, merchandising, and/or planning experience preferred
- Proficient in MS Excel (incl. lookups and pivot tables), MS Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines
- Very detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy for data entry
- Fluent in written and spoken English
