Senior Manager, Visual Merchandising Operations

Job Description

Responsible for the operations of the VM teams in our global network and managing the VM standards and ensuring VM/Brand consistency across all stores, fostering/building closer communication between corporate and store in order to deliver an unforgettable experience for customers.

  • Coordinate and implement work-class retail standards across all our physical stores globally.
    • Coordinate, communicate & support store VM and operation teams on all VM related matters such as brand merchandising standards, retail marketing activations, major global campaign VM setups, global signage communications, global promotions etc.
    • Coordinating and supporting on day-to-day in-store operations jobs and responsibilities, such as VM in store setups & standards, local promotions/rertail activations/events (MOT, MOWS) etc.
    • Partner with key stakeholders (retail marketing, division VM, Ops Team, merchant teams) fostering/building clearer communication channel on all VM related matters and executions between corporate and division.
  • Partnering with VM Design to Implement directions based on DFS brand codes guidelines
    • Plan and execute merchandise layouts and display presentations across various touch points such as:
    • Windows (defined by either primary or secondary type windows).
    • Visual Merchandising Areas (Public aisles/circulation, escalator wells, VM spaces, atrium voids etc).
    • Multibrand Areas (Kids, Mens, Womens, Food & Gifts, Beauty etc).
    • New store openings, prestige lounges, store expansions & renovations.
    • Special Projects (Offsite pop ups, redemption lounges, office related décor, internal event backdrops, etc).
  • Support key brands and managing brand relationships 
    • Brand boutiques & brand pop ups, photo reports (ensuring brand boutique display are as per brand’s standards/guidelines).
    • Communicate with Merchant team and where applicable directly with brand’s VM.
    • Ensure clear communication channel between store VM, store ops and merchant on all brand VM related matters. 
  • Managing and support on all VPs & VAMs related matters.
    • Managing the visual asset management system for global VM and ensuring bookings are not duplicated, proposals are approved and executed in the divisions.
    • Working in close partnership/relationship with BMO, FMO teams on all visual assets that are offered/proposed to brands. 
    • Create vendor packages be included in VAMs.
      • Pop ups.
      • VM neutral zones / areas for merchandising opportunities.
  • Implement all in-store signage communication through layout and production of assets 
    • Print, digital and OOH visual Assets (Signage communication tools, digital screens etc).
    • Utilising communication tools and global guidelines, to adhere to set brand standards and consistency across all DFS stores.
    • Supporting O2O across all communication platforms.
    • Digital signage label (DSL) placements and on ground support.
  • Supporting all VM Budget, finance and other administrative matters
    • Partner with both store/Finance (corporate and division) on all budget related matters.
    • Working with local div teams on monthly division budget tracking and reconciliations as well as budget forecast and planning.
    • Shipping & logistics, tracking for all VM related props/fixtures, builds etc.

Key Requirements

  • Education in Art School or related courses like Fashion Design, Graphics, Fine Arts, etc.    
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail displays and similar commercial art experiences.    
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator; Microsoft software especially PowerPoint Presentation and Excel    
  • Excellent Communication skills with fluent spoken and written English and Chinese 
  • Approachable & Patience with great Collaboration and problem solving kills
  • Fairness to direct reports, able to motivate people and to build and lead teams 
  • Customer Centric with flexibility on working hours during major campaign
  • Open to Travel as required
