Senior Manager, Store Projects

Job Description

  • Successfully set-up, manage, coordinate and deliver DFS project planning
  • Successfully deliver projects at a high quality level, on time and within budget
  • Control all project site activities so that original design and planning intent is executed
  • Ensure that all project related information is communicated properly to relevant parties
  • Guide on local applications, rules, regulations and method of works, to ensure all potential issues are flagged properly and within a reasonable time period for resolution
  • Guide and influence site construction teams, both DFS and Brand specific
  • Provide recommended solutions as required to progress the projects to completion
  • Participate in tendering and costs control during the design, tendering and construction process
  • As a project leader to lead projects from inception to completion throughout the entire project life cycle.

Key Requirements

  • Working with the Director Design Management build consultant team base as required through RFP and tender process and ensure proper integration with landlords consultant teams
  • Working with the VP Brands store planning and the team, and ensure the Brand’s design are managed effectively and timely
  • Coordinate and build strong relationship with landlords and or local contacts
  • Coordinate internal DFS complexity especially in relation to Ops Divisions, Merchants and Finance
  • Manage the project brief to ensure that all aspects are managed and maintained through the concept, design development, tender and construction phases
  • Coordinate and attend all project update meetings
  • Coordinate, monitor and report on project budget status
  • Coordinate on internal and external QSs and commercial managers
  • Coordinate all external consultants through all phases of project
  • Ensure that all consultants and contractors are adhering to all necessary local codes and regulations as well as DFS rules and regulations and DOA’s
  • Oversee contractor interview and tendering process
  • Obtain all necessary information to enable construction to commence and complete without disruption, and all planned phases to be executed smoothly
  • Coordinate Design Managers on shop drawing review from contractors and consultant teams
  • Ensure all brand coordination for Vendor Package preparation and presentation is complete, through Design and Merchants
  • Coordinate the execution of construction works both generic DFS designed zones and Brand personalized spaces.
  • Including but not limited to coordinating with; Brand direct suppliers and Brand project teams, Store Operations, IT, Loss Prevention and Visual Merchandizing departments
  • Ensure the Store Development Leadership is updated on a regular basis through project meeting minutes and monthly reports
  • Anticipate and react to any and all conditions that may impact project in order to stick to budget and program
