Job Description

The Senior Human Resources Officer is responsible for providing Human Resources support to the Corporate and Global Merchandising function. This position will report directly to Human Resources Director and partner closely with a number of teams in our Global HQ in Hong Kong to support them on a broad range of HR management and professional HR advisory services. Your role will be to learn the needs of your client group well, then provide an excellent HR service to them.

  • Provide support on day-to-day HR operations to the Corporate and Global Merchandising populations:
    • Ensure a great experience for new starters and leavers
    • Collaborate with Reward Center of Excellence on preparation of salary proposals and offers of employment and annual salary reviews
    • Engage with line managers to provide support on performance management
    • Seamless coordination of correspondence for all employment-related matters
    • Support the team in keeping on top of administrative duties such HR database maintenance
  • Provide Support to non-local employees:
    • Coordinate global mobility for employee relocations with external vendors
    • Facilitate Hong Kong work visas and renewals, liaise with our vendors and the Immigration Department to ensure a seamless experience for employees
    • Organise internal and external service providers supporting with home search, arrangement of tenancy agreement, move-in procedure, and renewal process
  • Provide support on HR projects:
    • Coordinate employee engagement activities, get involved in key projects that enhance the employee experience at DFS

Key Requirements

  • University Degree preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • At least 2 years of relevant HR generalist work experience in sizeable organization preferred 
  • Great communication and relationship management skills 
  • Proactive with an enthusiasm for change and an ability to work well with ambiguity while solving problems and juggling multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; experience with Success Factors is a plus
  • A good working knowledge of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance 
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work at speed with a high level of accuracy
  • A fast learner who can be an outgoing team player with a positive attitude
  • A strong sense of diplomacy and confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of our work 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese
