Senior Financial & Planning Analyst, Oceania

DFS is seeking an experienced Senior Financial & Planning Analyst. As a Business Partner with store teams, the successful Senior Financial & Planning Analyst will manage business performance and the commercial segment for the region with a focus on financial planning, cost tracking, and analysis. Together with the Senior Finance Manager and the overseas finance support teams, you will provide a strong backbone to and act as a key business partner to the store teams in our Oceania region.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support on daily sales reporting, monthly sales forecasting and trending
  • Create and maintain consistent business reports and provide adhoc analysis to support business objectives, daily operations and needs as they develop
  • Prepare & review CER (capital expenditure requests) for corporate submission based on CER guidelines
  • Full understanding of financials KPIs - sales, passenger numbers, spend etc
  • Prepare Sales Forecast, budget and strat plan
  • Analyse monthly P/L and provide effective financial reporting to management. 
  • Deep dive to understand variances vs budget/forecast and recommend action plans to manage to the financial target
  • Review all aspects of store expenses and identify cost drivers to manage costs within reasonable budget guideline and influence business performance together with collaboration of Store team.
  • Constantly identify cost savings initiatives by enhancing procurement process and drive action plans to achieve the objectives
  • Partner with Store to assess sales and profitability on regular and ad-hoc promotions
  • Process review within and cross locations for best practice and standardization within Oceania

Key Requirements

  • University graduate in Finance or related degree
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) / Certified Practising Accountant (CPA)
  • 4 - 6 years solid experience as a business partner providing financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling
  • Able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen
  • Experience in data warehouse systems/tools, such as: COGNOS, insight, SAP BW, SAP BPC, Power BI, SAP AFO, Oracle, Tableau
  • Strong team player; able to work with cross-functional teams & comfortable working with diverse levels within the organization
  • Pro-active approach, with a strong drive to complete tasks effectively and accurately within tight deadline
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word; knowledge in SAP a plus; Power BI or data tool experience is advantageous
  • Fluent in English with excellent presentation and communication skills
  • High integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
  • Enthusiastic to drive efficiency within the organization
  • Confident in leading group discussions to generate ideas or solve problems
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Sense of urgency and timely deliveries
