Job Description

The role of the cashier is to deliver seamless, luxury customer experience while providing cashiering efficiency and accuracy to maximize sales and productivity.


  • Assists customers in selecting, purchasing, refunding merchandise within his/her designated Sales Area (as assigned by a manager) while demonstrating excellence in customer service at all times.
  • Treats all goods, regardless of value, with care and present to the customer with highest level of respect.
  • Completes accurate sales transactions in a professional, timely manner.
  • Informs customer of necessary and relevant information, as applicable.
  • Assists in developing clientele base through Platinum Services Club (PSC) and other relationship building activities.

Customer Experience

  • Proactively seeks to develop and maintain professional relationships with customers.
  • Maintains a smart and well-groomed appearance (as outlined in the DFS Grooming Policy) in full DFS uniform to convey a professional image of self-confidence and competence.
    • Consistently applies the DFS Apprentice to Master behaviors including identifying customers’ temperaments and flexing to their style.
    • Provides consistent helpful, friendly assistance in a sincere manner.
    • Maintains eye contact.
    • Uses professional language at all times.
  • Performs various non-selling functions such as receiving and checking merchandise, housekeeping, and visual merchandising in order to maintain effective retail operations and other duties, as assigned by a manager.
  • Responds to customer queries and complaints in a polite and courteous manner - refer to the manager or Manager on Duty, as appropriate.

Key Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year sales/cashiering experience in retail, hospitality, customer service, or luxury brand boutique experience preferred.
  • Proficient in operating a POS register machine and mobile POS.
  • Language: Bilingual language skills a must.
  • Good organizational skills, self-starter and highly motivated.
  • High energy level and positive approach to job and group responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours/shifts, including weekends, nights and holidays.  Able to work overtime hours when necessary.
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs. product shipments 5-7 times/day.

  • Pay Range: Base Hourly Pay $15- $22.50
  • Start Hourly Rate: $18.04
