At DFS, technology is at the heart of everything we do, and it is DFS Tech’s mission to transform experiences, enable a step change in performance, and play a pioneering role in reimagining luxury travel retail. DFS Technology team is driving a significant transformation to modernize ways of working, deploy modular tech architectures/platforms, drive automation, digitize employee and customer experiences and deliver insights from DFS’ data. 


A major component of this transformation is the implementation of a next-gen SAP S/4 HANA core backbone globally across the DFS Group. As part of the Technology Transformation team, the SAP Program Director will drive this implementation in conjunction with our appointed external partner, across all markets. He/she will evangelize the benefits of deploying best-practice processes and standard SAP to senior stakeholders, establish program plans, manage resources (internal as well as external partners), measure progress, anticipate and overcome obstacles, drive continuous improvement, and champion agile.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Lead the SAP S4/Hana implementation from initiation to roll-out.
  • Define the Program charter and clarify component project boundaries and interdependencies within the Program.
  • Guardian of the program governance to maximize value along the way.
  • Accountable of the design of SAP S4/HANA to ensure the sustainability of the solution with the design authority and the experts (external partners and LVMH SAP Center of Excellence)
  • Collaborate with project teams to gather security specific requirements and translate requirements into design.
  • Responsible of the delivery of the SAP platform to the whole organization leveraging best practices from SAP and LVMH.
  • Advocate best practices in process and implementation design.
  • Manage the vendor relationship with SAP and ensure the roadmap integrates last SAP releases.
  • Resource planning, develop team skill matrix and teamwork load management.
  • Manage a team and the integrator in the delivery and support of the product.
  • Strong vendor management and quality management.
  • Monitor and report Program progress against the plan.
  • Through service introduction planning and execution, ensure that when new capabilities are introduced into production, they are well communicated, and the team is prepared for production support.
  • Assess and enhance team agility and maturity by developing coaching plans and conducting maturity assessments.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, mentoring, and coaching to team members, and act as a role model by proactively demonstrating innovative thinking, accountability, and commitment.
  • Manage Program changes in accordance with the change management plan to control scope, quality, and schedule.
  • Manage the issues and risks of the Program and coordinate component Project issue and risk management by their Project managers.
  • Act as escalation management level for component Projects
  • Work closely with the program sponsors, customer program manager and the program steering committee to facilitate decisions necessary for Program delivery.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations at Program level.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required


Educational Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent years of experience)


Work Experience 

  • At least 10 years of experience working in large scale program environment. 
  • At least 5 years’ experience with SAP S4/HANA 
  • At least 5 years ‘experience working with Agile and Value realization 


Licenses/Certifications required 


  • SAP S4/HANA 
  • Program/Project Delivery methodologies (PMP, AGILE) 


Critical knowledge & skills including tools, software applications, language, etc.


  • Deep expertise in SAP, agile methodologies, frameworks, and practices.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring individuals and teams and facilitating training sessions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence change and resolve conflict at the leadership and team level.
  • Strong problem-solving skills that can be applied to resolve complex business and technical challenges.
  • Experience developing and tracking metrics and using them to make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with agile planning tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks.


Other Qualifications / Core Competencies


  • Fluency in English, mandarin language is a plus
  • Experience delivering SAP S4/HANA programs.
  • Functional acumen in retail (Merchandising, Replenishment and Allocation, Supply Chain, POS, etc)
  • Experience supporting production applications including ensuring service level agreements, incident management, change management, request management, and problem management.
  • Excellent Communication skills – written and verbal – comfortable communicating with senior executive level stakeholders and has an ability to adapt the communication style based on the stakeholder he/she is engaging with
  • Adept at managing change, comfortable with tight deadlines, and equipped with the ability to lead through influence.
  • Able to work under pressure, result-oriented, excellent communication skills, self-motivated, responsive, and detail-minded.
  • Comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment with a diversity of backgrounds and styles.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with different teams and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
  • Proven ability to influence and set expectations.
  • Self-motivated and team player


Working Conditions / Environment


  • This role must be based in Hong Kong; occasional travel will be required.
