Logistics Manager - La Samaritaine F/M

What you'll be doing?

The logistics manager plays a very important role within the Samaritaine Operations team because he/she is responsible for the availability of our products so that they are presented to our customers. He/she manages the movement of products from stocks to sales areas. He/she ensures smooth processing and distribution, specifies incoming and outgoing goods on time, assists with movements in sales areas, activates price change notifications, coordinates and manages inventories.

Main missions:

Management of merchandise locations

Work in collaboration with the warehouse and delivery dock manager. Know when deliveries are expected and liaise with the operations manager and the warehouse to coordinate timely inventory deliveries.
Work in collaboration with purchasing and planning departments.
Manage the receipt and verification of incoming products for the store. Ensure that all stock has been checked in accordance with standard DFS procedures, that any discrepancies have been addressed and confirmations have been made
Manage reverse logistics processing/returns when necessary
Manage the processing of damaged products and destruction of goods in accordance with internal policies and customs regulations.
Acts in liaison with the Operations Manager and sales department managers to ensure that all obsolete inventory is processed within the appropriate time frame
Optimize stocks and reserves. Maintains appropriate and efficient inventory management space including accurate and clear labeling of shelves/box/storage areas
Manages support teams to effectively ensure the reception, sorting and preparation for replenishment of goods in sales areas. Coordinates the efficient and regular replenishment of products in sales areas
Acts in conjunction with inventory control to verify that inventories are carried out efficiently, accurately and within agreed deadlines
Is responsible for ordering, storing and delivering distribution supplies including the availability of bags in sales areas
Is responsible for shrinkage and inventory discrepancies in stocks and reserves.
Continuous improvement of procedures and being a force for proposals to improve flows.
Team and service management

Establish a climate of trust within logistics teams

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business or equivalent desired.
  • 10 years + in a commercial environment required. Team leadership experience with merchandising and financial accounting knowledge desired. Merchandising and logistics experience preferred.
  • Fluent French and English
  • Mastery of the pack Office
  • Strong multidimensional leadership ability. Able to function effectively in a multicultural environment with resourcefulness and sensitivity.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity and confidentiality with strong business and financial acumen
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ease in presentations
