Internship - Business Analyst & Inventory Control F/H

                                                                     Internship Business Analyst & Inventory Control - 6 months full time
                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Samaritaine - Paris 



Working within the Finance Department at La Samaritaine, your responsibilities will be shared between the Business Analyst and Inventory Control teams. 
This internship will allow you to understand the field challenges of maintaining proper inventory while developing your financial analysis skills. 
This internship will also provide an opportunity to gain an overview of the performance of La Samaritaine's department store. 
You will be in daily contact with the store's operational teams, the purchasing and planning teams, the logistics teams, as well as the finance teams.


Your missions :

1. Business Monitoring:

 

 

• Analysis of weekly and monthly sales by product category, customer base, and KPIs for management
• Conducting additional analyses (brand productivity, performance of pop-up events, etc.)
• Participating in the monthly closing (reconciliation of sales and variable costs), as well as inventory-related costs
• Analyzing variances versus the reference period at closing
• Budget/Forecast: Participating in the budget process and strategic plan, preparing reports and recommendations for improvements


2. Inventory Control:



• Organizing and conducting inventory
• Analyzing variances and conducting investigations with the store and logistics teams
• Implementing monitoring KPIs


3. Data:



• Creating reports on Power BI (inventory analysis)
• Developing our reports using our data visualization tools (DAX, SQL)
• Automating our tools for business case reviews (pop-ups, restaurants) and performance analyses

 

 

Profile:



• Higher education (BAC +4/5 years of higher education), ideally with prior experience in Finance or Business/Data Analyst
• Ability to think analytically and look beyond numbers
• Dynamic, rigorous, curious, with a sense of initiative, and the ability to work independently
• Strong Excel skills; prior experience with a data visualization tool is a plus (Power BI, Tableau, Qlick Sense)
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong team spirit
• Interest in the luxury and retail sectors
• Fluent in English



Information for candidates:

• Presence required twice a week at 7:30 a.m. for inventory counts
