Macallan Boutique Manager

As the Macallan Boutique Manager, you will be the primary conduit between DFS and the Macallan Brand in a harmonious manner that respects the retailer’s standards whilst ensuring the brand expectations are incorporated with daily operations to achieve a more efficient, productive, and profitable store. You will be responsible for maintaining Boutique service levels and smooth operations, including daily store and team presentation spot checks, inventory management and ensuring selling guidelines are followed. You will support the recruitment and hiring of talent for the new Boutique.

  • As primary point of contact for the brand in the Boutique, the boutique manager is a retail ambassador of The Macallan and embodies the DNA and values of the brand
  • Leading by example in demonstrating the role model behavior that is representative of the brand in striving to deliver the promised brand experience to each and every customer
  • Responsible for maintaining Boutique service levels and smooth operations, including daily store and team presentation spot checks, inventory management and ensuring selling guidelines are followed
  • Develop team in brand knowledge and luxury selling skills, following formal trainings in support of education managers for DFS and Macallan
  • Proposing and implementing incentives and recognition programs to improve sales performance and increase team morale

Critical knowledge & skills, including software applications, languages, etc.

  • Technical skills: Knowledge in MS Office
  • Professional knowledge of stock control management
  • Knowledge of wine & spirits industry, including competitor awareness, trends, etc.
  • Proficiency in English; ability to speak a second language is an added advantage
  • Must have the ability to cultivate luxury clientele, with a strong preference for candidates who can maintain an established network of VIPs

What you'll be doing?

Boutique Brand Consultant Key Responsibilities

  • Point of contact for the Brand (Daily Operations and Brand Training)
  • Responsible for overseeing Prestige Selling / DTC processes in line with brand guidelines.
  • Monitor Inventory and report to Operator Managers and Replenishment Teams as required
  • Monitor the Store Presentation. Report maintenance issues or housekeeping supplies needed.
  • Monitor the Storage Areas and maintain according to expected standards.
  • Update Visual Merchandising as requested by the brand. Ensure Shelf Pricing is correct.
  • Support the team with understanding the Product Sell Out Limits and Selling Guidelines. Monitor that these rules are adhered to by all retail staff within the boutique.
  • Support with developing and tracking incentive programs.
  • Coach and Mentor, the team on Brand Knowledge.
  • Training Coordination / Market Visit Support

 

General Store Visual Merchandising / Customer Management

  • Maintain store standards that always reflect and adhere to the visual merchandising guidelines
  • Possess an eye for detail, handle stock taking, replenishing and updating sales display areas
  • Support control and management of stock aligned to management directions
  • Enhance customer service standards in store to ensure world class service is delivered; go beyond and offer premium services to customers in recommending the right product selections
  • Daily housekeeping of shop's cleanliness

Sales/ Business Monitoring

  • Welcome every customer and deliver the best customer experience through the delivery of premium customer service, product knowledge and expertise
  • Ensure customers feel comfortable in the Boutique while educating them about the brand with bespoke tastings
  • Perform as a team player and participate in all activities contributing to the overall objectives of the store
  • Handle POS and cashiering activities; Process sales transaction in a confident and professional manner
  • Drive and achieve individual and team objectives and be accountable for retail sales results; Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and seasonal individual and store sales targets
  • Engage with clients to develop long-term relationships and confidence in The Macallan products and services
  • Collect customers’ CRM details to build and maintain the customers’ profiles, ensuring personal follow-up with the customer
  • Actively strengthening own product knowledge by being updated on market trends in the Wines and Spirits industry; Participate in store training, being updated on all product lines and researching relevant information on products
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned
  • With a clear understanding that what we offer is a career in retail operations, successful individuals are required to perform the retail operational hours

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business or equivalent 
  • Minimum 3 years within luxury retail store experience; leadership experience with sales and luxury merchandise a plus
  • Strong multi-dimensional leadership ability, enjoy working in a culturally diverse environment 
  • Able to make sound decisions with relevant facts at hand, does not shy away from conflict
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Work independently and on weekends and outside of regular office hours, if required
  • Fluency in English and other languages as required by location
