Merchandising Product Manager
Job Description
The DFS Technology team is seeking a project manager for merchandising system – a global role, based in Hong Kong or Singapore. This individual will be responsible for maximizing the value of key technologies used by DFS merchandising, logistics, inventory management and regulatory / trade compliance teams for the global network of stores and DC’s. The manager, their colleagues and technology partners will work with business leaders and product owners to drive the roadmap in support of DFS’ overall vision and business objectives for both physical and digital channels. The role will entail management of software & partner selection, business analysis, solution design input, implementation, and end-to-end service delivery. The candidate should possess a balance of technical depth, business acumen, and strong communication skills. Candidate should be independent, results-oriented, eager to learn and with a passion for technology.
Responsibilities:
- Work with technology partners and cross-functional teams at DFS to drive development of new functionality, design, and systems in response to merchandising and company needs
- Support business reporting through analyzing and developing user requirements, product testing and management, close communication with stakeholders, and KPI/reporting thought leadership
- Mange projects involving merchandising applications (e.g PIM, MDM, ERP), tools, and integrations
- Support all members of merchandising as a super user of systems and applications, and create appropriate documentation and training materials as needed
- Establish industry best practices for project standards and processes
- Maintain updated documentation to facilitate program/project sustainability and knowledge dissemination
- Build strong relationships with internal and external business partners to identify, research, and resolve system issues/opportunities
- Represent merchandising needs in managing product development, roadmap and enhancements
- Prioritize needs to achieve the highest value for merchandising and DFS
- Facilitate discussion around and contribute to DFS expansion strategy
- Successful candidates will possess deep technology implementation and service delivery experience in many of the following business process areas:
- Merchandising Product Information Management, Master Data Management experiences for retail, eCommerce, and wholesale channels
- Logistics/ Inventory Management operations
- Customs and regulatory processes
- Successful candidates will have experience:
- Leading, motivating, coaching, and developing diverse teams composed of direct, indirect and external members
- Developing and managing budgets at the program and project level of both capital and operational nature
- Leading support for production systems with emphasis on service delivery, problem management, and the effective mitigation of technology obsolescence
- Working in a multi-vendor environment
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- 5-7+ years of experience designing and delivering technology solutions through consulting, retail, or travel industry experience
- Professional / technology certification is desirable (e.g PMP)
- Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
- ERP (e.g. SAP IS-Retail)
- PIM system (e.g. Informatica)
- Business analysis, project and process management in MDM and inventory management
- Vendor management
- Stakeholder communications and management
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and deliver quality work in a fast-paced work environment
