Manager, Compliance

Job Description

Based in Hong Kong, the Compliance Manager is a key part of the Legal and Compliance Department (LCD). You will work in a small but dedicated team with global coverage. You will be reporting to Head of Compliance and responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including implementing and supporting the Company’s global compliance program.

Your main areas of responsibility will include:

  • Training and communications:
    • Provide training and communications to employees globally on subject such as anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, third party due diligence, etc. 
  • Policies and procedures:
    • Support the drafting or revision of global compliance policies and procedures.
    • Implement procedures that can detect and prevent instances of illegal, unethical, or improper conduct by employees, agents, suppliers, contractors or other parties dealing with the company
  • Third-party risk management:
    • Conduct third-party due diligence and help improve the company’s global supplier/customer risk management.
  • Internal investigations:
    • Manage the company’s whistleblowing hotline and the end-to-end investigation process.
  • Ad-hoc projects:
    • You might be asked to lead or support ad-hoc projects such as fraud investigations, corruption risk assessments, accounting controls, etc.
  • Management of Compliance program:
    • Liaise with cross-functional teams within the company, service providers or outside counsel.

 

Key Requirements

Requirement 

  • 5 years + of experience in compliance, specifically in AML, anti-corruption, international sanctions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance and Accounting  from a prestige university.
  • Certification such as CAMS, CFE, is a plus.
  • Regional experience across Asia, including China; global experience would be a plus.
  • Proficient in English, Mandarin and/or Cantonese. 
  • Strategic problem solver who is able to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and recognizes the importance of building effective relationships and establishing trust and a collaborative working relationship with business colleagues.
  • Mature and detail-oriented team player with a strong work ethic and sound business judgment, able to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
  • Plans, organizes and prioritizes workload and deadlines, keeps colleagues informed and manages expectations.
