Logistics Manager

Job Description

The Logistics Manager will have an in-depth knowledge and control all facets of the logistics operations in Australia. The Manager will oversee all activities performed by the 3rd Party Logistics partner, from goods inbound to stock availability in stores, and ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant logistics operations. The Manager will develop an effective partnership between 3PL and DFS stakeholder requirements to deliver clear targets for seamless logistics service and support a strong alignment with DFS’s goals and objectives. The Manager will utilize data, logic to identify areas of opportunity and implement sustainable improvement solutions in the 3PL operations.

Key Requirements

Educational Requirements - College or University Degree preferred or equivalent work experience

Work Experience - 5 years of experience, with a minimum 3 years at managerial position, in warehouse and logistics fields

Critical knowledge & skills

  • Fluency in English, with demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated competencies in logistic flows, stock control, security, safety, and people management
  • Good problem solving skills and can identify root causes of failures to implement improvements
  • Knowledge and experience with applying Quality Improvement Techniques. 
  • Six Sigma certification, APICs, Supply Chain Certification, and/or other professional certifications are a plus
  • Proficient in MS computer applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) is required

Location and/or Position-Specific Requirements –

Based in Australia with periodic travel requirements within Oceania to different DFS store locations
