Logistics Director, China

Job Description

The Logistics Director will have a comprehensive oversight over the Logistics operation (Onsite warehousing or 3PLs in Hainan) and the Hainan Retail Logistics (In Store Back of House & In store Warehouses). The Logistics Director is responsible for the overall service of the deliveries into the Hainan stores, the management of the onsite warehouse
and financials and performance of the logistics infrastructure. The Director will oversee all logistics activities and management of the logistics team to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant warehouse operations. The Director will develop effective partnerships within DFS and Partners of DFS through regular communications and meetings; create
a strong alignment with DFS’s goals and objectives and the steps needed to achieve of those goals and objectives.


The Director will develop “Key Performance Indicators”, “KPI’s” for the Logistics support team in the warehouse. The Director will create standard operating procedures in collaboration with the wider logistics organization and provide clear targets to provide a seamless logistics service to our retail stores. Objectives will include but not be limited to
logistics productivity and cycle time; service commitments; maintaining a secure, safe, and legally compliant operating environment; and the financial goals of the operations.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic area such as Engineering, Accounting, etc. may be substituted.
  • 7 years of experience in warehouse management experience with a Global retailer or Freight forwarder/Logistics provider.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is a must. Cantonese is a benefit.
  • Strong competencies in management of teams, in logistic flows, stock control, security, and safety.
  • Knowledge and experience with applying Quality Improvement Techniques. Six Sigma certification, APICs, Supply Chain Certification, and/or other professional certifications are a plus.
  • Proficient in MS computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
