Inventory Control Specialist

What you'll be doing?

The Inventory Control Specialist prepares and manages stock counts to maintain an accurate stock level within the store. They monitor all aspects of inventory processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and productivity.

Ideal Candidate

  • Plan and execute physical stock count of store inventory.
  • Assist in compiling Physical Inventory Count Sheets for data upload and to populate Net Variance Report.
  • Provide Root Cause Analysis Report and Pareto Charts based on research and data compilation.
  • Manage the hardware required for stock counts & stock takes, along with uploading the data into MCS
  • Reconcile and thoroughly analyze store inventory counts in MCS system 
  • Ensure transfer cut-off dates are adhered to
  • Investigate and report stock discrepancies across the store and warehouse
  • Manage and lead all levels of staff on inventory process and procedures
  • Control manual transfer forms, write-off forms, delivery discrepancy report. System input of location-to- location transfers
  • Liaise with store operations and R&A teams on day to day inventory discrepancies and update MCS, including negative stocks management, corrections and reporting

Additional Information

  • Audit, process, sort, count and transfer out merchandise for pending Reverse Logistics (RL) and Inter-Division Transfers (IDT)
  • Coordinate with Store Team for items that needs to be repaired (Including Defective Tools Report)
  • Review and action outstanding Inter-departmental transfers            
  • Maintain and provide clearance of invalid SKUs (POS errors)
  • Systems inventory adjustments for stock write offs/ins, Return to vendor shipments or Returns to warehouses    
  • Adjust inventory in the system for aged inventory, damaged inventory, or non-moving inventory           
  • Coordinate with Planners on aged GWP’s – according to the GWP program

  • Audit pre-orders and VIP orders                              
  • Monitor inventory movements required for ETR (In-flyter or on-line) transactions
  • Follow up on Inventory accuracy systems and procedures, i.e. GWPs, promotions
  • Provide consistent feedback to improve and streamline systems currently in place
  • Process shipments & Maintain Order Qty regularly for EDI suppliers received at the stores HAW
  • Help provide Finance & Auditors documents related to inventory adjustments or movements
  • Consignment Reporting            
  • Provide Ad Hocs Report to support Store and DC Operations         
  • Meet with Location’s Management Team monthly for Inventory Status Update Report
  • Monitor tickets and process rejected items for adjustments in the 3 pt approval Global Inventory adjustment process

  • Manage all Spirit/Wine/Tobacco (SWT) breakages and other Duty Free Damages transfer to DC, including expiring Custom entries
  • Process write-offs & manage Did Not Turn Up items (DNTUs) – Gate deliveries of products
  • Oversee maintenance of vendor UPC barcodes
  • Monitor outstanding shipment acknowledgement, follow up with Logistics team to ensure completion of booking process
  • Manage pre-order release function and review outstanding pre-orders
