Inbound Supervisor, Logistics

What you'll be doing?

  • Develop work schedules that ensure adequate coverage in general merchandise, bulk merchandise and value added goods processing to attain daily goals.
  • Direct the work flow in the Inbound areas to achieve prescribed objectives
  • Maintain established levels of service 0-2 days completion of shipments
  • Implement FIFO and other priority processing instructions including Priorities assigned daily
  • Achieve KPI targets – cycle time, accuracy, productivity goals
  • Resolve exceptions preventing completion of shipments
  • Facilitate flow and staging of merchandise from processing to putaway
  • Ensure accuracy of PO and items received by monitoring checkers’ work output
  • Ensure that all necessary UPCs and item footprint are being captured at point of receipt according to Business Practice guidelines
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment
  • Develop plans to maximize the utilization of space in the Inbound areas
  • Supervise the processing of Testers and non-sku’d GWPs according to established procedures and ensure its timely distribution to the stores
  • Communicate with other DC Supervisors in areas which may affect other functions in the Distribution Center
  • Execute printing Price Tickets per the vendors requests
  • Maintain a clean, neat, orderly and safe work areas
  • Maintain security of the warehouse
  • Train staff in work areas as needed
  • Develop and maintain a productive team by creating incentive programs, motivation building for professional development
  • Coach, counsel and discipline staff as necessary
  • Resolve all problem purchase orders within acceptable time frame (48 hours or less)
  • Implement all Company and US Customs, and other government agency regulations as applicable
  • Complete quality control audits on select purchase orders and/or store orders to ensure accuracy of receipts
  • Ensure merchandise are staged in the appropriate staging location
  • Ensure all pre-distributed goods are routed to the shipping department on a timely basis – Notification sent to shipping department upon completion
  • Monitor completion of PO receipts and end of day closing in the system
  • Provide coverage for other DC Supervisors as needed
  • Provide coverage for the Inbound Clerks as needed
  • Work in accordance with the department budget
  • Assist in all other Distribution Center functions as needed

Ideal Candidate

Experience:

  • Prior Warehouse leadership experience required
  • WMS experience required

 

Education:

  • High school or trade school

 

Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Forklift Certified
  • Attention to detail
  • PC skills required (emails, worksheets, documents)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks, meet deadlines, work overtime and work flexible shifts

The hourly rate for this position is $25 - $35. Placement within this range will be based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
