Import Export Specialist

Purpose and Objective of Position

 

Daily processing of import entries and export transactions in-bond via our in-house self-filing software. Ensure all relevant PGA data is validated for a timely release and movement of cargo. Support and collaborate with Logistics team members to assure duty free store merchandise moves efficiently.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process Customs Entries, i.e. classify invoice as required, file entry, and respond to inspection requests
  • Full understanding of trade remedy tariffs and their application
  • Ability to maintain consistent performance under pressure
  • Ensure compliance with US Customs and other government agency regulations (FDA,F&W, TTB etc…) related to the importation of bonded merchandise for duty-free and/or duty paid purposes.
  • Review documents for accuracy as prescribed by the standard operating procedures
  • Monitor Customs entry process, and check Customs release for discrepancies
  • Transmit payment of Customs duties via ACH and submit required copies
  • In-Bond processing of exports and warehouse transfers
  • Ensure that permit file folders contain all necessary document copies in proper sequence
  • Exception handling by consulting with manager
  • Co-ordinate delivery of cargo to DFS warehouse with carriers
  • Handle TTB transfers into DFS bonded warehouse
  • Assist in processing reports for inventory validation and permit file maintenance

 

Ideal Candidate

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of customs entry writing
  • Understanding of US Customs Regulations and bonded warehouse entry process
  • Have worked on well-known import/export commercial systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $30.00. Placement within this range will be based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
