Finance Business Analyst

Job Description

                   

What you'll be doing?

 

Financial Analysis 

  • Identify and recommend efficiencies and cost saving opportunities across all Global Technology. 
  • Collaborate with controllers to review month end financials and ensure all variances to budget are adequately explained. 
  • Highlight any anomalies that require follow up actions. 
  • Collaborate with IT business partners to evaluate the effectiveness of project spend via financial and non-financial KPIs. 
  • Ensure up-to-date accounting standards regulations, quality level of data collection at source. 
  • Attach to individual IT domains to gather more IT specific insights and facilitate a balanced discussion between operational efficiency and financial accuracy.  

 

Budget/Forecast Planning 

  • Analyze cost, projects and spending to identify trends and opportunities  
  • Conduct frequent trend analysis and consolidate for management decision making 
  • Lead the budgeting process from start to end, ensuring effective communication across global stakeholders and standardization of review process 
  • Proficient in slides preparation and confident to present to senior management 

 

Reporting 

  • Proactively look to improvise existing processes to cope with the dynamic business environment 
  • Develop and maintain reporting required to monitor results at global level 
  • Standardize division PNL analysis, business case template and reporting tool 
  • Assist IT leaders to assess capex requirements for new projects and facilitate official sign-offs  
  • Support governance of spending through project managing the approval process for opex and capex items, including collation of documents required for approvals 
  • Conduct training for basic financial literacy and handle upcoming changes like IAS38, Singapore GST increase, Fixed assets (software) distinction, etc. 

 

Control 

  • Document and refine SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for both internal IT and external cross departments stakeholders; ensure the SOP is well communicated to corporate, compliance to company policies, accounting treatments, systems and audit standards 
  • Gatekeeper to global IT spending request  
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties requested by your manager 
  • Proactive in finding efficiencies such as concentration risk in key vendors, proposing a more agile approval process, etc. 

Ideal Candidate

 

  • Degree holder in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field 
  • 2 to 4 years related work experience as a Business Analyst in a sizable commercial organisation 
  • Strong Microsoft PC based applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint required   
  • Microsoft Strategy, Power BI, SAP BPC, SAP FICO and SAP COUPA knowledge is a plus 
  • Excellent command of the English language and excellent communication skills 
  • Strong quantitative skills and able to analyse a business both statistically and conceptually 
  • Ability to format analytical works into presentation forms.   
  • Confident in dealing with ambiguity and resourceful to achieve results 
  • Experienced in implementing change management from start to end, handling discussions with senior leaders, stakeholders and driving a change in mindset 
  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality with a keen sense of business/financial acumen
