Finance Analyst, Business Support Finance

Job Description

Reporting into the team Manager or Director, to provide business analysis and decision support for the finance team and be part of a Global Commercial Finance team managing business performance with a focus on PNL reporting, consolidation and analytical review.  You will assist the team to manage all financial planning and analysis activities for the business and improve the business insights of those analysis to drive business performance and sound decision making.

Financial Analysis

  • Identify and recommend efficiencies and cost saving opportunities across all global store locations.
  • Review division month end financials and ensure all variances are adequately explained.
  • Highlight any anomalies that require follow up actions by Accounting & Reporting team or divisions.
  • Collaborate with business partners to evaluate the effectiveness of investments via financial and non-financial KPIs.

Budget/Forecast Planning

  • Analyse sales, margin, KPI and profit results to identify business trends and opportunities and quantify the effects of business changes, initiatives and events.  
  • Conduct frequent trend analysis and consolidate store locations for management decision making.
  • Support the team in preparing budget, forecast scenario and monthly financial review by working closely with business partners and cross departments.


  • Work with related functions to streamline and automate reports where possible and enhance communication.
  • Develop and maintain reporting required to monitor results at global level.
  • Standardize division PNL analysis, business case template and reporting tool.


  • Monitor and control expenditure in actual, budget and forecast in close collaboration with corporate and divisional functional and all finance functional teams.
  • Document and refine SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for cross departments; ensure the SOP is well communicated to corporate and divisional level, compliance to company policies, accounting treatments, systems and audit standards.
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties requested by your manager.

Key Requirements

  • Degree holder in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field
  • 2 to 4 years related work experience as a Business Analyst in a sizable commercial organisation
  • Strong Microsoft PC based applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.  
  • Microsoft Strategy and Power BI knowledge a plus.
  • Excellent command of the English language and excellent communication skills
  • Strong quantitative skills and able to analyse a business both statistically and conceptually
  • Ability to format analytical works into presentation forms.  
  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality with a keen sense of business/financial acumen
