Facilities Supervisor
Job Description
The Facilities Supervisor assists the Facilities Manager in maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping and facility maintenance to maximize customer experience and ensuring safety and comfort for all. They are responsible for controlling the total maintenance of the facilities and all safety and related items. The Facilities Supervisor’s role is also to develop suitable programs for maintaining company standards of sanitation, maintenance, housekeeping, and safety of equipment and facilities and responsible for supervision of facilities support staff.
Key Requirements
Daily monitoring to ensure all shop facilities are functioning properly at all times.
Monitor the performance of external service providers and contractors ensuring compliance with specific security requirements and are within required timeframes.
Obtain quotes and recommend preferred vendors to DFS management for maintenance works, supplies for repairs, housekeeping supplies etc.
Source equipment, hardware, supplies and parts, including materials for repairs as required and from outside sources, if not locally available.
Oversee the ordering and monitoring of equipment and supplies.
Coordinate with relevant department and / or contractors to carry out site inspections, maintenance work, renovation work, special event preparation and assist on projects.
Maintain facility documentation including maintenance log, plans, archives, and other documentation as required.
Coordinate meetings, lead, coach, and train the team in general housekeeping works, maintenance works, safety requirements, etc.
Coordinate site inspections with authorized inspectors to ensure site compliance with regulatory requirements etc.
Supervise facility support staff an promote good working environment with an open-line of communication between employees and management.
Comply with DFS’ Occupational Health & Safety Policy and procedures and attend OHS training as required and actively participate in Emergency Response procedures.
Participate in identifying, assessing, and controlling risks and hazards in the workplace.
Report any accident/injury/hazard in the workplace to manager or the site OHS Representative.
Perform other duties as requested in a diligent and conscientious manner.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Secondary School or High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
Must be familiar with and use all cleaning tools and supplies, hand tools, power tools and materials handling equipment in performing duties
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Highly motivated and required to use considerable judgment in planning and performing tasks
Working Condition / Environment
Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required.
Lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly.
Able to climb in overhead structures, work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
Exposure to a combination of normal office type environments and store environments.
Be available or on call to Management and Tenants for emergency situations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Able to work flexible hours and shifts, including weekends, nights and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
Able to work additional hours, as needed.
