Job Description:

The Category Assistant is responsible for supporting the merchant/ planning teams in the development and execution of the category/planning strategy. This role supports the planning, development, and analysis of assortments/ promotion & pricing and in-store presentations and also assists the team in their daily business. In addition, the Category Assistant plays an active part in improving the overall work flow of the category.

 

Merchandising 

  • Management of SKU create and assortment maintenance process
    • Maintenance/tracking
    • Follow up on execution
    • Coordination with brand partners & other internal transversal partners
  • Support in all pricing-related topics
    • Creation of Price Changes 
    • Conduct relevant market research
    • Analyze proposed price changes to ensure alignment with category strategy
    • Follow-up on execution
  • Support animation and marketing Initiatives
    • Ensure operational flow
    • Follow-up with brand partners
  • Support in the analysis of relevant business needs to drive category strategy

 

Planning 

  • Management of Purchase Orders
    • Maintenance/Tracking
    • Coordination with brand partners & DFS logistic team
  • Support in all pricing-related topics, particularly for our monthly promotional activities
    • Creation of Price Changes & Promotions in system
    • Follow-up on execution
  • Support Revenue Management with Vendor Support agreements
    • Creation
    • Tracking
    • Follow-up with brand partners
  • Maintenance of relevant category reports
  • Management of return logistics and other merchandising topics with brand partners

 

Requirement: 

  • College or university degree preferred 
  • Previous merchandising and/or planning experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent at problem solving and handling multiple priorities
  • Detail-oriented and analytical
  • Action oriented and resourceful
