Category Assistant, Food & Gifts/ Private Label & Concept Store (6 months contract)

The Category Assistant, Merchandising, is responsible for supporting the merchant teams in the development and execution of the category strategy.  This role supports the planning, development, and analysis of assortments and in-store presentations and also assists the Merchant teams in their daily business.  In addition, the Category Assistant, Merchandising plays an active part in improving the overall work flow of the category.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of SKU create and assortment maintenance process
    • Maintenance/tracking
    • Follow up on execution
    • Coordination with brand partners & other internal transversal partners
  • Support in all pricing-related topics
    • Creation of Price Changes 
    • Conduct relevant market research
    • Analyze proposed price changes to ensure alignment with category strategy
    • Follow-up on execution
  • Support animation and marketing Initiatives
    • Ensure operational flow
    • Follow-up with brand partners
  • Support in the analysis of relevant business needs to drive category strategy
  • Support ad-hoc and improvement projects

 

Key Requirements

  • College or University Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Previous merchandising and/or planning and/or Shared Services Center Preferred
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent at problem solving and handling multiple priorities
  • Detail-oriented and analytical
  • Action Oriented
  • Customer Focus (internal customer) and Interpersonal Savvy
