Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned Associate Planning Manager to join our well-established Merchandising team. You will quantify the Merchandise Strategy for your area of responsibility. You will develop seasonal and Brand/Class location sales plans.  You will order and allocate product to maximize inventory productivity and gross margin.  High performer will also pipeline as the future Planning Manager.

Merchandise and Inventory Management

  • Work closely with Director of Planning, Merchandise Manager (MM), Product Sales Manager (PSM) and Distributor partners to manage financial plans
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly department Open-to-Buy (OTB) 
  • Provide ongoing feedback and information to team members on sales results, competitive practices, vendor issues, and other specific information which could impact business performance
  • Monitor and forecast inventory levels at the division and location level
  • Establish and maintain assortment plan pipeline by determining order quantities and placing orders with suppliers
  • Buy merchandise for the divisions based on model stock and sales trends 
  • Identify slow and best sellers in inventory;  respond to merchandise performance to maximize sales and minimize risks
  • Determine markdown strategy and ensure communication/execution with divisions
  • Develop department seasonal plans; create Brand/Class level sales plans 

People Development

  • Encourage and support the development of talents; offer honest and constructive feedback to direct reports and business partners to foster people development
  • Focus on self-development to prepare for promotion to Planning Manager 

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above
  • Minimum of 5 year in a buying and/or planning function with financial and analytical merchandising background
  • Internationally mobile for career advancement opportunities, likely to San Francisco, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Singapore and other major Asia-Pacific cities
  • Luxury market and international business experience preferred
  • Have people coaching and leadership experience 
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English
