Import Export Manager

About the position

The Import Export Manager will oversee and manage and efficient import/export operation. The manager is responsible for an extended team of regulatory team-members in the region and working in collaboration with internal & external business partners to monitor activities for adherence to regulatory import/export procedures throughout the business lifecycle.

 

Job Posting- Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Regulatory Control Team import/export operations
    • Develop and manage Customs Self-Filer process
    • Recruit and build effective teams
    • Provide day-to-day direction concerning work assignments, overtime requirements and priorities.
    • Conduct annual performance appraisal meetings, set individual/collective objectives, give feedback
  • Maintain knowledge with Customs regulations and other Partner Government regulations affecting DFS operations
  • Assist to develop process with various internal functions in obtaining import/export licenses, agreements, permits, certification and similar (e.g. FDA, CITES/F&W, ACH, CF300)
  • Process Invoices/payments and investigate/negotiate if required

Key Requirements

Work Experience: 5+ years of leadership experience in Customs Brokerage and Importer Reasonable Care. LCB would be preferred.  Detailed knowledge of Customs Bonded Warehouse regimes, FTZ’s, Cites, Harmonized System Codes, Valuation, and TTB.

Educational Requirements: College or University Degree preferred or comparable work experience.

Critical Knowledge & Skills: Fluency in English Strong competencies in management of teams. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and ACE entry filing systems. Ability to actively participate in complex, cross functional projects.
