Assistant Planner, Commodities

What you'll be doing?

As an Assistant Planner, you will be a pivotal member of our Merchandising and Planning teams, actively contributing to the enhancement of operational efficiency and category collaboration.
Your role will involve:

  • Spearheading initiatives to streamline processes and implement innovative solutions.
  • Collaborating with brand teams to manage promotions, margins, orders, and inventory effectively.
  • Utilizing Microsoft Power Automate to optimize workflows and improve data management.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Improvement & Innovation:

  • Drive continuous process improvements, leveraging Microsoft Power Automate for workflow automation.
  • Participate in projects aimed at enhancing category performance and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Implement open-minded approaches to problem-solving, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the management of purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Coordinate with brand partners and the DFS logistics team to maintain seamless operations.
  • Support pricing strategies, particularly for monthly promotional activities, through meticulous planning and system updates.
  • Facilitate vendor support agreements from creation to execution, maintaining strong relationships with brand partners.

Data & Analytics:

  • Maintain and analyze category reports to inform strategic decisions.
  • Manage return logistics and address merchandising challenges with data-driven insights.

Ad-Hoc & Improvement Projects:

  • Contribute to ad-hoc tasks and projects with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a university degree in a related field.
  • Brings previous experience in merchandising and/or planning (preferred).
  • Demonstrates proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Exhibits strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Is detail-oriented, analytical, and action-driven.
  • Maintains a customer-focused attitude and excels in interpersonal communication.
