Under the supervision of the Human Resource Director, the Senior HR Specialist will be responsible for recruitment, employment/hiring processes, safety and legal compliance, employee engagement activities, and learning and development training coordination. Responsibilities include managing the applicant tracking system, coordinating job requisitions, working in conjunction with the hiring managers for on-boarding, managing background checks, designing an employee engagement strategy, and managing the HR administration process for the Division office. Additional responsibilities include working in conjunction with Division HR Managers to align on Division specific policies, procedures, and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
• Assist with designing and implementing overall recruiting strategy in conjunction with HR Director for the Division Office
• Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/colleges etc. Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media etc.
• Maintains weekly vacancy and recruitment status reports.
• Screen candidates resumes and job applications
• Conducts interviews consistent with company guidelines
• Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
• Promotes company’s reputation as “best place to work”
• Responsible for pre-employment processing. Arranges drug testing and conducts background and reference checks.
• Assist with onboarding new employees to become fully integrated in DFS Culture
• Coordinates temporary service needs between the managers and employment agencies. Employment
• Interprets and implements company policies and ensures consistent application of policies and procedures.
• Investigates employee complaints thoroughly and applies appropriate measures for resolution of problems.
• Processes terminations and conducts exit interviews. Training
• Conducts new employee orientation.
• Oversees coordination of training schedules for new hires.
• Assist Learning and Development Manager to coordinate on site development training
• Track and monitor training attendance and Learning and Development calendar
• Oversees management of the of LVMH LRN program for the US Division Administration
• Oversees new employee health benefits orientation and enrollment.
• Provides retiree program information to eligible retirees.
• Processes Leave of Absence requests.
• Ensures timely processing of worker’s compensation claims for work injuries and customer liability claims. Maintains claim files, coordinates investigations.
• Ensures maintenance of OSHA (Occupational Safety Health Act) monthly log and annual report for area locations.
• Oversees maintenance of active and termination personnel files
• Process relevant paperwork and system input for new hires, changes in status and terminations.
• Manages Division RAVE Alert Communication system
• Manages the Division Corporate Credit card program
• Manages the LVMHappening Employee system database for DFS North America
• Processes all HR related invoices for payment Other
• Leads Location Employee Engagement Committee and coordinates Summer Events, Service Award Dinner and Holiday Party.
• Provides support in payroll processing for location.
• Assists the LAX location HR Manager Airport Badges and U.S. Customs Seals Programs in compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
• Supports and backs-up the Human Resource team in general duties, as needed.

Key Requirements:
Educational Requirements
• BS in Human Resources Management, or relevant Business Experience Personal Characteristics
• Must love a fast paced, change oriented environment
• Ability to communicate and relate with all levels of employees
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload & multi-task
• Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Occasional out of town travel required BS in Human Resources Management, or relevant Business Experience Work Experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong decision-making skills
• Experience as a Recruiter (either an in-house recruiter or a staffing agency recruiter)
• Ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency-based, stress etc.)
• Hands on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference check etc.)
• Retail store level experience a plus
• Familiarity with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Candidate Management Systems (CMS)
• Hands-on experience with recruiting software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) or Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS) Other Qualifications:
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills, bilingual a plus.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to flex and prioritize workload.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications.
• Exceptional Customer Service Skills. Working Conditions:

• Fast paced and the ability to work independently
• Must follow all legal compliance and maintain confidential information
• Candidate will have to pass a 10-year background check and drug screen with the ability to obtain an airport badge as part of the process.
